Some exciting -- and progressive -- news from the world of professional soocer (football): Anton Hysen, who plays for Sweden’s Utsiktens BK team, has revealed that he is gay. “I am a footballer. And gay. If I perform as a footballer, then I do not think it matters if I like girls or boys,” the 20-year-old told Offside magazine. He said it was "sickening" that no one else in his sport has been comfortable enough to come out yet, and that if people call him names, it will just inspire him to play harder. Congrats to him. I'm sure his coming out will help others -- and show sports fans that even rugged, macho athletes like Hysen can be gay.
