Music Box: Ricky Nelson

Although he got kinda creepy in his adult years, Ricky Nelson -- during his 1950s teen idol years -- was one of the all-time cutest guys around. (OK, I'd have taken Wally Cleaver over him, but basically the same idea.) One of his best hits, however, was "Garden Party," which came in his early 30s. My brother Terence e-mailed me that he'd seen a "most appropriate" use of it in Monday's episode of "Men of a Certain Age," which he says he's beginning to like despite "the freakish appearance of Ray Romano." (I haven't seen the show yet.) Can't decide if "Garden Party," "Travelin' Man" or "Poor Little Fool" is my favorite song of his, but never tire of deciding.

Kenneth, did you realize this post was 25 years to the day from Ricky Nelson's funeral, or was that just a coincidence?

@James: No, it was a total coincidence! You're so good at all of these trivia things -- I think you noticed something like this before, too!
