Born This Way! Nature Over Nuture

My friend Chad says Born This Way! -- a "photo/essay project for gay viewers (male and female) to submit pictures from their childhood (roughly ages 4 to 14), with snapshots that capture them, innocently, showing the beginnings of their innate gay selves. It's nature, not nurture! -- has me "written all over it," and after looking through it, I can see why.

In addition to giving their stories and explaining their (adorable) photos, each participant also identifies their first same-sex crush (how to narrow it down?!). Like little Robb Peters from New Jersey, seen above on his first day of kindergarten back in 1967, who was destined to be gay the minute they added that second "b," and who named Robert Conrad -- in the "I dare you -- knock the battery off my shoulder" commercial. Robb writes: HOT Daddy! LOL! (Check out my friend Greg's wallpaper of the Hollywood hunk HERE.)

I can hardly wait to visit my parents again so I can find my "winning" photo. I know there's a pic of me going trick-or-treating dressed as our neighbor -- Karen Muethel!

Glad you liked it! I think it's my new favorite blog (other than yours!) And I, too, can't wait to raid the old photo albums at my parents house to find my "winning" photo.

Kenneth - thanks for posting about "Born This Way"! The response has been, to put it mildly -- INSANE!
I had to close off the submissions because my inbox nearly exploded yesterday! They'll be back next week, though.

Thanks again! Paul V., LA CA
