Some people think "mad as hell and not gonna take it anymore" flight attendant Steven Slater is a drama queen, or should have stood his ground and gotten his abusive passenger in big trouble with the feds. I happen to think he showed great restraint in bowing out as gracefully as he did -- I'm really getting tired of people's utter lack of civility these days, and clearly I'm not alone -- and see an appearance on "The Colbert Report" in the uniform redesign committee member's near future.

I'm with Slater on this one. I don't think Jet Blue should be pressing charges.
In NZ, Jet Blue would be the one investigated - companies are required to ensure that they provide safe working environments - which clearly was not the case here when the passenger abused Slater.
Possible 7 years in prison is a bit scary.
I've always thought no carry on should be allowed, except for what you can put under the seat. But then I suppose people will try to cram any soft carry on, no matter the size.
Unfortunately we're in the era of the inconsiderate.
Re: era of the inconsiderate... IMO, it all began with the substitution/acceptance of the leisure suit as travel attire.
