Page 1 Consider (04/19)

  • Brotherly Love: My man Ed Burns -- still boyishly handsome at 42 -- is back with a fresh New York story: "Nice Guy Johnny," set in the Hamptons and at Puffy's in Tribeca, will debut on Friday at the Tribeca Film Festival.(NYDN) And read about Mr. Christy Turlington's favorite places in his beloved Tribeca HERE.

  • Whistling Dixie: Frank Rich's column on Confederate History Month is yet another must-read: It’s not happenstance that officials from the Sons of Confederate Veterans in Virginia and Mississippi have argued, as one said this month, that the Confederate Army had been “fighting for the same things that people in the Tea Party are fighting for.” Obama opposition increasingly comes wrapped in the racial code that (Bob) McDonnell revived in endorsing Confederate History Month. The state attorneys general who are invoking states’ rights in their lawsuits to nullify the federal health care law are transparently pushing the same old hot buttons. (NYT)

  • Holding Out for a Hero: Welcome to Skin Tight U.S.A., a costume-fetish party held at the famed Stonewall Inn in the West Village, which draws a regular group of men (and their admirers) who enjoy a special kind of dress-up: superhero costumes, wrestling gear and more. (And do you love the racy photos that accompanied the story? Somewhere, Abe Rosenthal is turning over in his grave.) (NYT)

  • Valley of the Dolls, Eh?: Look out, world: Canada's got its own Susan Boyle. (YouTube)

  • GLAAD Rap: My friend Greg has the lowdown from the GLAAD Awards in Los Angeles, where Drew Barrymore, Wanda Sykes, “A Single Man” and "Glee" were the big winners. (Greg in Hollywood)

  • Miami Beach Gay Pride 2010: "More people, more flamboyance." (Gay South Florida)

  • Ivy Towers: Everyone knows if you want to see barebacking gay porn stars, Harvard's the place -- not Yale. (Gawker)

  • Quick Vote: CNN actually had the audacity to POLL its viewers on whether or not gays should have the right to visit their partners in hospitals. Hey, CNN: Here are the results of my "quick vote": 100 percent of gay and lesbians don't give a flying fuck what your viewers think about our civil rights. (QueersUnited)

  • Not-So-Golden Years: Sonoma County, Calif. separates elderly gay couple and sells all of their worldly possessions. (Bilerico Project)

  • Forever Jules: Despite her annoying tweeting, her annoying husband and her annoying kabbalah-ing, I still love Demi Moore. (NYT)

  • Update: The man wanted for strangling a transgender woman in her Queens apartment has been arrested in Las Vegas, police said. (NYDN)

  • Play Family Census: My brothers and I have to say that this is the best photo illustration ever. (Now why didn't we ever take a census of Winter Springs, Fla.?) (EV Valley Tribune)

  • Taking the Plunge: Australian swimmer Daniel Kowalski, who won four Olympic swimming medals before retiring, came out as gay in an opinion article he wrote for Australia’s Sunday Age. (Outsports)

  • Wigging Out: Douglas Hodge brings his own style to the Broadway revival of "La Cage aux Follies," and Ben Brantley approves.

  • Czech Mates: Two decades after the fall of Communism, Prague's gay community seems to be making up for lost time. (Heads Up)

  • Class of 1980: This shot from the "Bosom Buddies" reunion on TV Land is awfull bittersweet because of the absence of Wendie Jo Sperber, who died in 2005 of breast cancer. (LA Times)

    Re: Class of 1980

I loved that show (and Wendie Jo Sperber made it 1000 times better- although I adored her even more in "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" myself). The rest of the cast seems to be holding up quite well for not having Tom's income...
