The Boys Are Back in Town

In preparation for the Australian Open, which begins on Monday in Melbourne, eight of the world's top players --Novak Djokovic of Serbia, Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina, Robin Soderling of Sweden, Fernando Verdasco of Spain, Jo-Wilfred Tsonga of France, Fernando Gonzalez of Chile, Tommy Haas of Germany and Ivan Ljubicic of Croatia -- will compete this week in the Kooyong Classic exhibition. Ljubicic will play the opening match on Wednesday against Del Potro, followed by Djokovic versus Haas. Gonzalez will then play Verdasco and Soderling takes on Tsonga. For no apparent reason, Andy Murray of Britain will not officially be part of the event -- even though it's an exhibition -- but tournament promoter Colin Stubs has agreed to include him on the program ... to play an exhibition match(!) against an as-yet-undecided opponent on Thursday.

What, no mention of Tommy Haas' new fabu short haircut? Now, if only Robby Ginepri would get his hair cut like it was in the fall of '06!
