Schoolhouse Rock

While I was a little bit concerned that my unabashed love for Rachel Maddow might be making me a virtual lesbian, my affection for her just took a HUGE nosedive last night when she had the audacity to ask -- during a segment about a battle between two high schools making lipsynched music videos -- how a Hall and Oates clip could possibly compete with one set to music by Outkast. (Seriously, Rachel! You needn't be a maneater to figure that one out!) Ironically, this likely attempt to seem slightly aware of popular music sort of backfires when you remember the fact that "Hey Ya!" was a hit all the way back in '04 (ouch!).

The Shorewood video wins hands down, not just for the backwards lipsynching, but for the inclusion of the boys in speedos. However, both schools need to learn the concept of choreography. If you are going to make a "spontaneous" music video set in a high school then you need to watch "Hot Lunch Jam" from Fame first.
