Ran Out of Luck?

I had heard Kylie Minogue did a slow treatment of "I Should Be So Lucky" on her tour so was bitterly disappointed when she didn't at Monday's gig. Now Ben Ratliff mentions it in his review of Tuesday's show. Anyone know what the deal is? The answer seems obvious -- she did it one night, not the other -- but he mistakenly refers to "The Loco-Motion" twice (calling it a "stripper-dance version" once -- which is what we got on Monday -- and then mentioning it again, calling it a "lovingly slow treatment"), so I'm not sure if he knows what he's talking about. The review is sublime, otherwise. Particularly this part, in which he tries to explain how Kylie has been an international phenomenon all these years, yet barely a blip on the radar in the States:

It’s a long story, how she has remained apart from the American post-disco line, but it boils down to Europop’s absolute foreignness: there is no Bronx in it. Ms. Minogue has studied Madonna for years, but maybe this country needs only one blonde, stadium-filling, high-camp, digital-burlesque artist at a time and Lady Gaga -- who draws from both Madonna and Ms. Minogue -- has dibs on that spot.

actually -- hilarious. after all, when i think about how some things become so popular, i'm still left wondering, "hmmmmm, where's the intellectual capital?" being absent, the answer is buried somewhere in your post. funny, you. back to the outdoors, thanks.
