(212) Hero of the Week

OK, technically this guy isn't a hero -- the police generally frown upon making good on a threat to give someone else's crying child something to cry about. But ya gotta admire his follow-through -- and maybe next time this 2-year-old will think twice before causing such a scene in a public place. (Thanks, John!)

Sorry, there's nothing to admire about this. Granted, lots of people don't deal with their kids the way they should, but a stranger has no right to slap a 2 year old. He should be arrested and thrown in the slammer.

Maybe I just don't get ur sense of humor Kenny. That's a cruel story. Kids can be annoying for sure & too many parents don't control their kids at all in public -- which is snotty as hell. Smacking the parent of an annoyng kid might be sorta funny, but hitting a 2 year old is abusive & horrible. What exactly do u find so hilarious about this?

You do have to wonder what those wailing infants are thinking.

I wish the kid had slapped him back.

Ken, I generally find your blog delightful but I cannot believe you'd make light of the assault of a child. This man had no idea what the situation was with this 2-year-old baby. 2!! Perhaps the child was autistic or challenged in some way? Children cry. Children are loud. Perhaps it's because I haven't been in a Walmart in ages but I have to wonder who in their right mind is expecting peace and quiet at a Walmart? It's a store, not a freaking library.

I hope this prick does a few weeks.

Hero?? Please....

Feh! I think many people join me in despairing of parents that let their children run riot through public places without any supervision. If you're in a public place, at least make an effort of keeping a lid on them. Not everyone finds them precious! If a child is wailing like a car alarm, take him or her outside for a time out instead of inflicting the world with it.
