On the Fringe

*THIS POST IS BEING MADE BY (212) CONTRIBUTOR FRANK ANTHONY POLITO

A friendly reminder... The NY International Fringe Festival kicks off tomorrow!

My pal Brian Hampton's hilarious comedy (redundant?) The Jungle Fun Room was mentioned in today's New York Times' ArtsBeat blog. Opening "Night" is tomorrow at 12pm. Click here for more info.

And don't forget all the other GLBT-themed shows like: Abraham Lincoln's Big Gay Dance Party: "Abraham Lincoln's Big, Gay Dance Party is a satire centered on a fictional 'trial of the century' in Menard County, Illinois, where Lincoln lived as a young man. A local 4th-grade teacher tells her class that he was gay, setting off a firestorm over the issue of talking about homosexuality with children. The story is told from the perspective of the prosecutor, the defense attorney and the big city reporter sent to cover the trial. And the audience decides in which order the play is performed."

UPDATE: In case you haven't heard, there is a Gay Highlights Party for the Fringe Festival Sunday night at Vlada Lounge in Midtown from 9 p.m. till midnight. More than 20 of the gay shows in the Fringe will be doing short vignettes from their shows. Jonny McGovern -— star of Fringe Fest show "Dirty Stuff" hosts.
