American Sigh

How sad is the state of American tennis when they have to recruit Robby Ginepri -- the winner of TWO matches this year -- to represent us in the Team World Cup? (On clay, no less!) Unsurprisingly, the United States lost both matches to Sweden on Tuesday, with Andreas Vinciguerra beating Ginepri 7-5, 6-4, and Robin Soderling defeating Sam Querrey 6-2, 6-2. Now if only Robby would finally take my advice and give up on tennis and do what he does best: take his shirt off. A career as a model/reality TV himbo is clearly his calling -- just look at Jan-Michael Gambill, whose recent appearance on VH1's shameless "Tough Love" was the "highlight" of the show ...

And need I mention Mark Philippoussis? (I didn't think so.)

Robby Ginepri is a waste of talent. He doesn't have a fire in his belly to compete with the Nadal, Federer or any of the top players.

In all fairness, Ginepri just had an emergency appendectomy two months ago, hence the lack of matches... Give him a break - he's a quality player and will definitely win more matches when he gets back into a groove.
