Gov. David A. Paterson will announce on Thursday plans to introduce legislation to legalize same-sex marriage, according to people with knowledge of the governor’s plans. Not sure if it's good to forge ahead if you're not sure you've got the votes to make it happen, but perhaps Paterson wants to make his mark before he's shown the door. I know everyone thinks he's introducing this to boost his numbers but he had mentioned it prior to even taking office. I'll give him the credit of good intentions here.
