Gay City News: On Feb. 27, Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau announced that he would not seek a tenth term. While mainstream press reports have found his 35 years as district attorney to be almost entirely a success, Morgenthau's relationship with the queer community presents a far more complex picture. To his credit, though, he recently said he would investigate the 2008 prostitution arrests of at least 30 gay and bisexual men in at least six Manhattan porn shops, and may dismiss the cases against five of the men who are contesting the charges.
