Where You Going With That UB40 in Your Hand?

The post-Bush years: Survival of the fittest?

The economic crisis -- which has already claimed my brother Terence's job, my friend's dental practice, and several other friends' livelihoods -- hit even closer to home on Thursday afternoon when my guy got laid off. I shouldn't be all that surprised given the fact that he works in newspaper advertising (selling recruitment ads, no less). Yet somehow when it actually happens it still feels like a kick to the stomach. (BTW: THIS OCCURRED the same day the poor guy lost his job -- and it still hasn't been repaired!!!) Fortunately, we have a couple trips lined up in the coming weeks, so I'm hoping our new president can help begin to restore some confidence in our economy while the two of us regroup. Michael's a smart guy so I know he'll come out on top. But having both members of the family working in the same "dying" industry sure isn't a winning recipe for rest and relaxation, let me tell ya ...

VGL has found just the fashion statement for the current economic climate. See all five designs HERE.

I am so sorry to hear about your man losing his job. I think we are all feeling the impact and it sucks.

I am sure you will be a great emotional support to him. Losing a job can be humbling...he will do well with a man like you encouraging him to move on to bigger and better things!

My best,

Dave, WGB

So sorry for Michael. That could be any one of us, so common, and so sad. I wish him all the best, and along the lines of what Dave said, he will be fine with you by his side.
