Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

I'll be honest with you, I really don't like men with long hair. Something about it just doesn't work for me -- at all. Michael thinks I'm so against it that it completely interferes with my ability to see when a guy is hot (beneath the mane), but I'm quick to point to tennis as proof that this is just not true. I've long ranked Patrick Rafter as the hottest man to ever play tennis, and Tommy Haas has been high on my list in his absence. The fact that they both wound up coming around (see below) was certainly a bonus, but it was Rafter and his famous locks at the 1997 U.S. Open (oh, and the shot of his ass as he climbed into the stands after winning) that made a believer out of me. Haas, too, has since gotten a decent haircut. But my '70s dream man was Bjorn Borg, and he had the long hair throughout his career. (BTW, Michael: I think "Friday Night Lights" star Taylor Kitsch is the hottest man on TV now, and we all know he's got Cindy Crawford's hairdo.)

So it was with great delight when I opened the new Tennis magazine and saw this interesting piece on the correlation between a man's ranking and the length of his hair. Naturally, the higher he moves up the computer, the shorter his hair gets. (Why Fernando Verdasco -- who used to sport a two-tone mullet and is perhaps the greatest example of this phenomenon of all time -- wasn't included is beyond me.) Using this logic, the writer suspects a new 'do could be in the near future for World No. 1 Rafael Nadal ...

Juan Martin del Porto
Lleyton Hewitt
Roger Federer
Patrick Rafter
Tommy Haas

Long hair looks really hot.

Let's hope you are right about Nadal! (I'd also like to see him get rid of his Elvis-like sneer and incessant ass-picking, but that may be too much to ask for).

Also, del Potro got MUCH hotter because he now has TWO eyebrows.

Rafter with long hair looked like he was channeling a younger Val Kilmer. He's his own man now with that buzz cut!

"Buenos Haires"?
