'Rent' Stabilized

Didn't make it to the final performance on Sunday of the landmark Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, "Rent"? (I didn't, had to work!) Fear not, my friends. The Hot Ticket, Sony Pictures Releasing's new special programming division, will be screening the show's triumphant closing night in select movie theaters across the country, with special limited engagement performances Sept. 24, 25, 27 and 28.

Utilizing the latest in high-definition video and digital audio technology, the cinecast of "Rent," directed by Michael Warren, will take the audience on "an enhanced journey" through the music, lyrics, and images of this storied piece of live entertainment. The audience "will experience this production like never before -– not only from the best seats in the Nederlander Theatre, but from the stage and wings, where cameras will capture the raw emotion of the cast's performance."
