How bizarre. I too have been catching up on The X-Files, having just bought the whole set of DVDs. And I watched this episode on Sunday. Strange timing.
FYI, the second season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer has an episode (I think also in its second season) with Xander (Nicholas Brendon) in a very similar red Speedo. It's a great look on both, but I'll take Duchovny!
