Page 1 Consider (05/20)

  • Commencement Bitchslap: I'm sure the Boston College graduating class of 2008 thought they were in for a treat when Pulitzer Prize winning author David McCullough was picked to give their commencement address, until he stood up and pleaded with them to "do what you can to cure the verbal virus that seems increasingly rampant among your generation," such as the "relentless, wearisome use of words" such as like, awesome and actually. Whatever, dude. How random. (AP)

  • Death Blaze: Two Indian women whose families had tried to break up their relationship set themselves on fire in what police describe as an apparent suicide or an attempt at making s'mores gone horribly awry. (365Gay)

  • Designated Hitter: That crazy Jason Giambi. First the Yankees first baseman admits to using steroids. Now he admits to wearing a gold lame tiger-striped thong? (Queerty)

  • High Stakes: Record attendance at this year's International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association's (IGLTA) 25th Annual Convention & Anniversary Celebration in Las Vegas. (IGLTA)

  • A-Rod Injured: After a surprisingly successful clay-court season, Andy Roddick withdrew from the French Open yesterday citing a shoulder injury. (AP)

  • Insurance Gap: Nearly one in four gay and lesbian adults lack health insurance and are nearly twice as likely as their heterosexual counterparts to have no health insurance coverage, according to a recent national survey. (Harris Interactive)

  • How Delightful: Sen. Robert C. Byrd, a former member of the Ku Klux Klan and a one-time opponent of civil rights legislation, endorsed Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination on Monday. Capturing that elusive KKK vote may be just what the Illiois senator needs to seal the deal. (AP)

  • The Ole Lewinsky Trick: So Bill Clinton can finally get a break about something. Contrary to widespread belief, teenagers do not appear to commonly engage in oral sex as a way to preserve their virginity, according to the first study to examine the question nationally. (WP)

  • Davydenko Redux: More betting allegations in the world of tennis. (AP)

Wow, I heard you mad a joke out of the suicide pact news item, but had to check for myself. Sad.

Good for David McCullough for saying what he did at BC. This baby on board generation is delusional if they think they can still act like adolescents in the job market while their jobs are being out-sourced overseas. I am very past listening to the lame dialogue coming from the mouths of recent college grads (most of whom don't even know where Iraq is on a map).
