Page 1 Consider (04/11)

  • How Swede It Is: Those poor boys from Sweden. It was so hot down in Buenos Aires that they had to practice for their Davis Cup tie shirtless. (OhLaLa)

  • Doogie, My Hero: That Neil Patrick Harris wasn't so keen on Britney Spears' recent cameo on his show, "How I Met Your Mother," isn't really surprising. But that he said he's worried that producers are "'Will and Grace'-ing us too much" and that the show will suffer has to be the greatest TV phrase coined since "jumping the shark"!!!!! (AP)

  • Sister Act: I was a HUGE "Roseanne" fan, and one of the main reasons was Laurie Metcalf as Rosie's underconfident sister, Jackie. These days she's starring in "November" on Broadway, but if you're as big a fan as I am, you'll wanna check out this profile from yesterday's Post. She's married to Matt Roth, who played Jackie's abusive (and much younger) boyfriend, and has an interesting blended family that will warm your heart. (NYP)

  • Don't You Want Me, Baby? I should be ecstatic that Regeneration, a tour of '80s acts featuring the Human League (LOVE them!), Belinda Carlisle (LOVE her!), ABC, Dead or Alive and Naked Eyes. But according to the tour schedule they're not even coming to the city. (Regeneration)

  • Third Set: I always thought Robby Ginepri had a backup career as a model if this whole tennis thing didn't pan out. It seems Ocean Drive magazine agrees. (TennisServedFresh)

  • Drop a Falling Star: I guess I should be happy that CBS axed "Secret Talents of the Stars" after one episode (they're using the term "stars" even more loosely than that dancing show: Danny Bonaduce is one of them). But instead it just makes me sad that this was produced in the first place while good shows like "Friday Night Lights" and "Miss Guided" have to fight to even stay on the air. (AP)

  • Hot Stuff: The sexy photographic duo of Exterface and model Greg David get ready for summer with a new shoot, Sea Sex Sun. (Queerty -- adult link)

  • Flamed Out: For a paltry $6 million, financially strapped PlanetOut Inc. has agreed to sell its magazine and book publishing business -- including Out and The Advocate -- to Regent Releasing, owner of Here! network, yesterday. I don't know why, but this just seems so sad to me. I realize magazine publishing isn't a growth industry, but $6 million for the biggest gay monthly and our 40-year-old news magazine? I can't decide if this is a sign of assimilation, a sign of the Web's take over of print media, or just a sad reflection on the worth of "gay" properties. (DMW)

  • Steroid-Coated Spandex? So what's the deal with those new Speedo "Laser suits"? Personally, I'd rather see the swimmer in a regular Speedo (isn't that why they're called "swimmers' builds" -- so we can ogle them?). But since the Speedo LZR Racer was introduced in February, swimmers wearing it have sped to 22 of the 23 world records set, including sexy American Ryan Lochte. (NYT)

  • Dogheads: These doggie Jose Eber types really need help. (NYT)

Just so I remember correctly... Neil Patrick Harris cameo'd on W&G at some point, right?

This is the NYC area date on the Regeneration tour:

8/22 - Wantaugh, NY - Nikon at Jones Beach Theate

Or you could go to Trenton! :-)

Matt: Yes, and it was actually one of the funniest W&G episodes ever (the ex-gay organization he got Jack to "join").

Henry: Jones Beach is too much of a hassle with no -- ditto for Trenton! I did see Culture Club / Human League / Howard Jones at Radio City Music Hall (fab!). Sadly, it was a "rewind" tour then and that was TEN years ago!
