  • Dear Diary -- No! Esquire publishes the Heath Ledger diaries that never were. (NYT)

  • A Million Little Lies: The author who confessed this week to making up her memoir, "Love and Consequences," about growing up as a foster child in gang-ridden South-Central Los Angeles, appears also to have made up a foundation that she claimed was helping "to reduce gang violence and mentor urban teens" "Yeah. And about me being a woman ..." (NYT)

  • Roadhouse Blues: Very sad to read Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Now in his 50s, Swayze reminds me of another person who had this serious disease in a lot of way, one Michael Landon. Here's wishing Patrick well in his fight. (AP)

  • Didn't See This One Coming: Researchers have uncovered a rare photograph of a young Helen Keller with her teacher Anne Sullivan, nearly 120 years after it was taken on Cape Cod. The photograph, shot in July 1888 in Brewster, shows an 8-year-old Helen sitting outside in a light-colored dress, holding Sullivan's hand and cradling one of her beloved dolls. (AP)

  • Serious Transgression: So transsexuals in Columbia, S.C., have more legal protections than those in the great state of New York?

  • Sour Note: Sexy Juan Pablo di Pace didn't mind that a Royal Opera House poster showed him naked. He claims he didn't even mind that his penis had been air brushed into oblivion. The 28-year-old actor says he was just upset that the company didn't ask for his consent. (AP)
