Factory Work: The Warhol era's 15 minutes continue at the 205 Club, a new Lower East Side spot done up in the style of the Factory. Like that hangout, the interior of 205 is silver, a mix of paint and aluminum foil. It sounded like a lot of fun until I remembered that my 15 minutes of "patience for bars that only let cool people in" ran out 10 years ago, and that nightlife shouldn't be work. (NYT)
Open Season: Check out the "ideal slate of Oscar candidates, as chosen by the three critics of The New York Times." Unlike other years when there were a number of shoo-ins, this year 13 different films were selected for Best Picture -- with only "Letters From Iwo Jima" making all three critics' lists. (NYT)
Lame, Retarded or Offensive? The ill-conceived "Gay, Straight or Taken" reality dating show premieres tonight on Lifetime. Given the channel's core audience, I want to believe that they wouldn't make a show that's completely offensive to the gays, but I sitll have my doubts. AfterElton has already seen it and says this.
Another Opinion: "For Today’s Daters, Update on ‘Which Twin Has the Toni?" (Um, 1940 called and wants its headline back.) (NYT) (Just an excuse to post another photo of the hot boys.)
Rude Awakening: I woke up this morning and smelled gas. It turns out millions of others did too. (CBS)

I watched the premiere episodes of Gay, Str8 or Taken with Mom last night. Enjoyed it thoroughly- i know how disgusted you are about the show, but it was very Gay positive and actually shows how inconclusive and silly stereotypes are. I know everybody in the Gay community is upset because a gay man is deceiving a woman - and that this wouldn't be the case normally in the real world, but it's a fricken dating show for entertainment purposes- and for Women first- not the gay community. Well, that's just my little rant about it and now i'll shut my mouth. Everybody has a right to their own opinion
