Here I am looking pensive at the Church of Scientology Visitors Center in Royal Oak, Michigan, in the summer of '85. Having experienced it themselves, my friends took me there to have my personality audited, knowing full well it would lead the L. Ron Hubbard-ites to recommend massive rehabilitation. The staff was horrified by my results (it seems Tom Cruise & the Gang frown upon sarcasm and, what do you call it -- perceived homosexuality) and suggested a litany of costly cures. Nina and I began to laugh hysterically and went running out of the joint, not realizing it was my faintest chance at stardom that I was really leaving behind ....

Such great photos. I remember doing something very similar. Who knew a personality test would lead to paying for treament. lol
LOL I remember that! When I did the test the staff could not BELIEVE I wasn't willing to dish out $4.50 for the paperback of Dianetics!

I went to that exact same Dianetics center with my girlfriend in 1987 probably. Afterwards I think we went over to Noir Leather and bought some hot clothes to wear to The Shelter – just to get the creepy Dianeticism off of us.
