Does Mayor Bloomberg lust after Kathy Griffin?

The flame-haired comedian — who was Dominick Dunne's date the other night at Bloomberg's upper East Side townhouse for Lynn Sherr's book party — claims Hizzoner has the hots for her.

If so, he'll have to fight Dunne.

"We're a hot new item. I love him," Griffin told Lowdown at the opening night of the Meatpacking District comedy club Comix. "He is like my ticket to New York society. He took me to Mayor Bloomberg's house. His house, not Gracie Mansion — the real one.

"And let me tell you something: I could not get the mayor off my jock," Griffin insisted. "He was flirtatious with me and practically invited me to sleep over. Now I'm paraphrasing, but I think it was very clear he had intentions — cruel intentions — for me."

Bloomberg press secretary Stu Loeser responded: "The mayor appreciates Kathy's jokes, including these latest ones."

What makes him think she's joking?

Meanwhile, Griffin couldn't resist insulting Hollywood designer Pat Field, her seatmate at the Badgley Mischka show.

"I think she's clearly crazy. And wacky. And not that friendly, which surprised me. I don't know why. I thought we'd be two wacky redheads."
