The New York Times Travel section has a story today about the attack on Dick Jefferson and Ryan Smith in St. Martin. The article notes other problems gay and lesbian travelers have had vacationing in the Caribbean over the years including the 1997 incident in the Cayman Islands, but sadly left out reference to the ensuing protest T-shirts that said: "CAYMAN, MY ASS!" Hopefully the article also pays attention to those who live in the Carribean and face violence on a daily basis.
