Noonan's Complaint (updated)

The great American humorist Matt Noonan told me recently that he would like to read my blog more often, "but some of the pictures make me uncomfortable."

Uncomfortable? My blog? Really? I was really bothered by this and I pondered his statement for weeks. Could it be that my site is only enjoyable to women and gay men? I know of a few straight guys who read it and they'd never complained about any such thing. But maybe they were just the exceptions, not the rule.

But then I thought about it more and remembered all of the movies and television shows aimed in large part at straight men that I've enjoyed over the years and wondered if Noonan was being unfair. Did I not come and knock on their door for the comic genius of Jack Tripper just because of Chrissy Snow's jiggle? Did I not tune into "WKRP in Cincinnati" because of Jennifer's knobs (not to mention that Bailey -- even a queer like I could see the vixen in her ... right through those librarian glasses). And did I miss out on Dabney Coleman's classic performance in "9 to 5" to avoid Dolly's enormous jugs? (The list goes on and on, although I will admit that "Wonder Woman" was too gay for even a hormonal straight teenage boy to enjoy.)

So to Noonan and any other man who thinks kenneth in the (212) isn't for them, I say this: maybe the women and the gays come for the pictures and stay for the bitchy repartee. But you can always come for the bitchy repartee, pretend the items about hot jocks are really "sports posts," and I'll even promise to throw a few dames your way just to make it worth your while.

What do you say?

UPDATE: Matt contacted me yesterday and wanted to set the record straight: he is equally uncomfortable with the ridiculous cheesecake photos on my site as he is with any of the other material. Matt and I bonded over our mutual low threshold for embarrassment, so looking back I should have realized I had taken his comment the wrong way. My apologies and enjoy the photos of Superman's "package."

As a gay woman, I would have prefered pictures of Angelina.
