NBC News: It's always rubbed me the wrong way how gay characters on television always seem to end up having sex with women. (When Jodie Dallas wasn't busy plotting his "sex change" operation he was bedding every chick on "Soap," and even Matt Bomer got some pussy on "Mid-Century Modern" ... in 2025.) But if Barry Diller's way of finally coming out as gay is to announce that he has a completely satisfying romantic and sexual relationship with wife Diane von Furstenberg, far be it for me to criticize. Maybe this phenomenon is more common than I realize, even if I've never come across it once in real life in my nearly 40 years of gaydom. (And sorry, but unlike Diller, David Gest, Joshua Sasse, Jim Hart, Mr. Garbiñe Muguruza et al., not even celebrity diva worship could get this homo going in the boudoir.)
