Hurry Up and Wait

I keep seeing things like this on Facebook and I have a (serious) question: I’m curious why people vote early if there are such horrendous wait times -- is it that there are *always* hourslong lines no matter when you go? Don't get me wrong, I applaud anyone who votes. But my understanding of early voting is that it allows you to go at your leisure, and avoid the lines on Election Day.

I live in a city of 9 million and have never waited more than 5 minutes, even on the first Tuesday in November. (Go to my local elementary school and they have me in and out in no time.)

Makes me wonder if it’s deliberately onerous in red (and purple) states. 🗳️⁉️🙋‍♂️

I believe you answered your own question, Ken. The evil-doers are hoping folks will give up and go home. Remember when they tried to stop folks from giving voter water and food during their voting wait times.

There are plenty of voting sites that are very quick for early voting. I was in and out in 10 minutes. One just has to do some searching.

I believe it is still illegal to hand out food & water in wait lines in GA. And, of course, wait lines in predominantly minority areas are intentionally longer than those in white areas. They intentionally have less voting equipment in minority areas

I live in Pasquotank County, NC and I always vote by absentee ballot and always drop it off at the BOA. We use to have 10 voting precincts but are down to 5 now. Are early voting started on the 17th and there was an hour wait. The Maggots tried to drop over 800,000 registered voters from the ballot right before early voting started but our Court put a stop to that. Our absentee ballots were supposed to be mailed out on the 5th of September but due to Kennedy waiting til after the fact to request that his name be withdrawn from the ballot, I did not receive my ballot until the end of September. He did this in 20 states. It cost the taxpayers of NC over a million dollars. Our Maggot legislators cut the funding in our state to local BOE. On the ballot itself, there were two Maggot judges running unopposed. Due to the gerrymandering in this state, Democrats do not run for some state offices, so there are just Maggots running unopposed. Christian Nationalist churches in this state are telling their congregations to vote for Trump. Their leadership knew how rotten Robinson was but still have him running against Stein who is sure to win. We have one referendum on the ballot having to do with only allowing 18 year old and up citizens to vote in the state. This is already a law. The purpose of the referendum is so that the Maggots can claim that our election was a fraud because illegal aliens voted. They do not want our state to certify the election for Harris when she wins. This is the sad state of affairs in NC. We need to vote out all the Maggots in Congress and those who aided and abetted the January 6th insurrection need to be held accountable. Unfortunately Garland at the DOJ is trying to straddle the fence politically and it may have caused irreparable harm to this country.

Early voting started today here in Nevada. I waited until noon and by the time I arrived at my polling place, there were only about 8 people in line ahead of me. I was in and out in 15 minutes. I heard at the start of the day there was a long line. I like voting early because the Sec of State publishes the number of people broken down by party each day and I like for folks to see the Democrats energy here.
