I'm not really sure if this alleged "backlash" against some actress named Blake Lively is even real. (It sounds like a Russian bot looking to suppress Democratic turnout in November to me.) But if people are seriously dumb enough to be retrofitting societal norms to go after her -- for what appears to have been intended to be a playful slash affectionate comment about trans people that was made in the days when gay designer Christian Siriano became famous for his "hot tranny mess" catchphrase -- then we might as well shut down society and give up now. (Maybe "Boys Don't Cry" director Kimberly Reed can give Lively a call to discuss how many IQ points they've collectively lost dealing with this stupidity.)
