Remains of the Day (03/08)

Saturday 'Stache: Yowza. Disturbing that John Schneider's hotness is commensurate with his awfulness. (He's REALLY sexy in these pics.)

Speedo Sunday: Back in black

NYT Opinion: While I feel for Babe Paley's granddaughter (Belle Burden) HERE, it's hard not to think that the only thing sillier than made-up dialogue and invented situations about Truman Capote's "Swans" is the idea that someone who was 9 when Babe died would have any real insight into the socialite's drinking, drug use or sexual affairs. Even if the author's mother, Amanda Burden, had weighed in -- and wisely did not -- it would need to be taken with a huge grain of salt. I couldn't begin to accurately tell you what my own mother did, said or felt in her personal life -- and she's still alive. (Babe's been dead for more than 45 years.) And I think that’s true of everyone.

The anachronisms never end. But at the end of the day the series isn't a documentary, it's art. Some other food for thought HERE.

Hot Cat of the Day: Not all heroes wear capes. xo

RIP:

Steve Lawrence, crooner who formed pop duo with wife Eydie, dies at 88. Confession: I used to audibly groan when I'd hear the couple was going to be guests on "The Carol Burnett Show," but I came to appreciate them as I got older.

I lived in LA early 80s & worked at a showroom, corner of Beverly & Robertson. Rock walked in asking for directions & the moron manager (who was shortly thereafter fired) told him what he needed to know. I stood there mere inches from him with my mouth hanging open. He was still gorgeous.

I wish Frasier would get canned. I mean. Kelsey Grammer is just as bad an John Schneider. "Grammer later endorsed Mitt Romney, after he had won the nomination. He initially supported Ben Carson's candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, although later stating he would gladly vote for Republican candidate Donald Trump in the upcoming election."

@Jinxy: To each his own. I can separate the art from the artist -- meaning I will still drool over "Dukes of Hazzard" reruns when they're on!
