Song of the Day: 'A House Is Not a Home' by Dionne Warwick

Went on a Burt Bacharach bender last night, as I'm sure many of you did. "Trick" director Jim Fall said he was listening to this 8-track (a Columbia Musical Treasury twin-pack !), which made me green with envy. How did I not know about Vikki Car's version of "One Less Bell to Answer"?!

The legendary songwriter's death also reminded me that I named the first chapter of my memoir, "Wasn't Tomorrow Wonderful?," after today's song of the day. The essay was ultimately about finding a man who was willing to see me through my fear of mice, which I really only found out about when when showed up in my old Chelsea apartment. I've posted the Dusty Springfield version before, but today I give you Queen Dionne's version. We love you, Burt! xo
