Song of the Day: 'Wunderbar' by Tenpole Tudor

Today's pick is one of my favorite videos from the earliest days of MTV. I thought of it when I wound up in a Sex Pistols Wikihole, which eventually took me to the Malcolm McClaren mockumentary ("The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle") that frontman Johnny Rotten wanted nothing to do with -- which led me to learning that Tenpole Tudor frontman Edward Tudor-Pole (aka Edward Tenpole) ended up singing lead on three songs for the soundtrack ("Who Killed Bambi?," "The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle" and a cover version of "Rock Around the Clock") and appearing in the film. (Apparently there was talk of continuing the Sex Pistols with Tudor-Pole replacing Rotten although it never materialized.) I used to always start humming this Song of the Day whenever I would go to the '90s East Village bar of the same name -- sort of -- which eventually became Eastern Bloc and then Club Cumming. Enjoy!
