40 Years of AIDS

Not a fond moment in "This day in history." How this pernicious virus decimated a community and inflicted deep psychological wounds on those of us who were lucky enough to escape death is something few can comprehend. And while it’s disheartening to hear so many young, ill-informed queer activists be so dismissive of the brave men and women who did the hard work before them, what’s important is knowing that no LGBT people will ever have to experience the fear and isolation the AIDS generation lived through before life-saving drugs were finally available. ❤️🌈🙏

Kenneth, thank you for posting this for us all to remember the difficult and dark times. We pulled together and fought like hell to end the darkness. I hope we can pass how we did that on to the next generation.
