Saw a fun episode of "Rock Legends" the other night about teen idols -- mainly focused on Frankie Avalon, Bobby Vee and Bobby Darin -- and it got me wondering if there are people who aren't my parents' age who still love that kind of music. As I was reminded, it's awfully good: Frankie's "Venus" and "Why"; Bobby Vee's "Take Good Care of My Baby" and "Run to Him"; and Bobby Darin's "Mack the Knife" and the classic "Dream Lover" are a good place to start.
"Dream Lover" was kept from the top spot by Johnny Horton's "The Battle of New Orleans," which I'm guessing next to nobody remembers!
