After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.https://t.co/CBpE1I6j8Y

Bravo, Twitter! CEO Jack Dorsey deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for (belatedly) doing this, as nothing could improve the world more than mitigating the most loathsome internet troll ever. It should have been done 10 years ago when Trump was spreading the racist birther lie about President Obama, but now is better than never. (FYI: With his account permanently closed, Crazy Donald actually tried using the @POTUS handle and was quickly shut down!)

This is what the pro-Trump mob did to American law enforcement officers after the President incited a deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol(warning, graphic video) pic.twitter.com/4RNsZQAYbh— Josh Campbell (@joshscampbell) January 9, 2021
What a shock that #BlueLivesMatter types don't give a rat's ass about law enforcement

The punishment for being incredibly stupid should not be death
So let me get this straight: Trump tried to fuck over the U.S. military so that social-media companies would be MORE likely to ban him — but instead military got their raises, social-media companies still aren’t responsible for their nutty users and Trump’s permanently banned? pic.twitter.com/hU5P28cfHs

Yes, Virginia. There is a Seditionist in the White House
I can’t wait to see Senators Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley oppose @neeratanden for OMB on the basis of mean tweets

Historian, tour guide, and my pal @RSP_DC snapped this pic of detritus from the coup. Pittsburgh - we might be next? 😂 pic.twitter.com/1j9iNnYqZq

I guess a misspelling is a lot better than those "Camp Auschwitz" and "6 Million Is Not Enough" T-shirts
Do we know who erected the gallows and noose outside the Capitol?
— Chris Hayes (@chrislhayes) January 9, 2021
Skarekrow: It's not like they showed any signs of ill intent like that. No one raised gallows and a noose or wrote "Murder the media" or anything. Wait, both those things happened? Well, it's not like they found explosives ...
NYT: Trump “expressed regret about releasing a video on Thursday committing to a peaceful transition of power and condemning the violence at the Capitol” https://t.co/QkEyIWlo2a

No permission to use "Gloria," nor endorsement of him, past or present, was granted to Pres. Trump on behalf of Laura or her legacy management company, & we strongly & vehemently DO NOT condone yesterday's events at the Capitol.+~Kathy Golik, Legacy Manager#LauraBranigan #Gloria

The ghost of Laura Branigan wouldn't have to issue a statement if Trump could just exercise some self-control
A source sends this video of a group of Trump supporters today harassing Sen. Lindsey Graham at Reagan airport and loudly calling him a “traitor” after he publicly broke with Trump earlier this week. pic.twitter.com/XBF8K6DIUD

It gets better, Lindsey
Reminder: 11 more days of tyranny ... but not sure of the official Civil War II start date

"The punishment for being incredibly stupid should not be death" As my spouse says, "There is a great price to pay for lack of awareness." And this woman paid it along with the woman who climbed through the window and was shot. So, too, will the price be paid by those who are being identified from the many photos, particularly the ones they posted themselves on the internet.
Being "incredibly stupid" and part of a mob doesn't make one immune to the consequences. It's sad that her family tried to talk her down from the Qanon conspiracies she adopted but failed. They led her to a rampaging mob that she happily was part of. Look at the joy on her face as she carried the "Don't Tread On Me" flag, glad to be part of a riotous mob.
Once we have made a decision, we have little control over the unintended consequences. That's why being aware of what they might be BEFORE joining the mob is a good thing to do.
