Song of the Day: 'Sleepwalk' by Ultravox

"Sleepwalk" was Ultravox's first single with Midge Ure as frontman -- and the first single from the band's seminal "Vienna" album. It was their first chart hit -- something they had never done when John Foxx was singer -- hitting No. 29 on the U.K. singles chart.

Wikipedia notes that "Sleepwalk" was also the first song the band recorded with Ure. Rather than offering a demo tape of several songs to Chrysalis Records the reformed band opted to do a "finished" version of "Sleepwalk" with producer Conny Plank in early 1980, a recording that clinched the band's record deal with the label.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the LP, it's been given a 5-CD + 1 DVD box treatment, which you can read about in great detail HERE.
