Song of the Day: 'Shout' (acoustic) by YLE

The Daily News has a fun slideshow called "The song of the summer the year you graduated high school," which I thought was the perfect setup for a Song of the Day. But it turns out I already posted mine, "Shout" by Tears for Fears, which surprised me as being the pick for 1985 as I vividly recall the band's other smash (and more graduation-appropriate single), "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," playing on the radio as Deanna, Yuki and I drove to Denny's after a dry run of our graduation ceremony that May morning. (I guess the takeaway is that it was a huge year for Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith!) But since I still want all of you to be able to look yours up, I've found another version of the Summer of '85's biggest number, by an artist called YLE about whom I know nothing but who sounds a little bit like Dido having fun at an '80s karaoke night.

Look up your song HERE.
