P.S. Rep. Gaetz must score a 0 rating with the Human Rights Campaign having voiced opposition to a transgender rights bill, arguing that it could allow someone like Donald Trump to declare himself “the first female president.” And he was the ONLY person to vote against an anti-human trafficking bill in the U.S. House of Representatives. But it is curious/commendable to read that as a Florida state representative in 2015, Gaetz sponsored an amendment with Democratic Rep. David Richardson to repeal Florida's ban on adoptions by same-sex couples. He also persuaded his father, in the Florida State Senate, to support the repeal.
