Living in a Van Down by the River?

A U-Haul van has been parked in front of my apartment building for about two months now. It was apparently rented by a hoarder -- it is filled to the roof with heaps of papers, even on the driver’s side -- so cannot be readily driven away. My neighbor claims someone is living in it -- at $19.95 a day that’s very cheap rent in Chelsea -- although I have seen no evidence of this.

Question: Do I mind my own business (it’s not hurting me in any way) or do I call U-Haul to see if they’re missing a van? I’m not saying a crime took place, but I have watched enough episodes of “Snapped” to know when something seems really off.

By the way, there are two things I should probably note: My goal is to NOT become known as the next viral sensation Patty Parking Attendant! And the van somehow doesn't have any parking tickets, which makes me wonder if it could be park of a sting operation!

UPDATE: A kind reader just informed me that $19.95 is just a starting fee, not daily. It's more like $20 an hour!

UPDATE 2: Because I always listen to what Coco Peru says -- and she told me to call on Facebook -- I just contacted U-Haul. The vehicle has been reported STOLEN since May 2019 -- and they're coming to get it. That's all they would tell me, but I guess I did "the right thing"!

I'm surprised they told you that much.....or anything.

@Blobby: So was I! I think she was excited so was kind of reading the notes aloud, leading me to believe I was gonna get everything. But then she clammed up and said "thanks for calling"!

I assume that all U-Haul vans are transporting fertilizer bombs. You did good.
