Somehow got on a Bobby Vinton kick the other night. "Blue Velvet" is obviously the height of his career -- the song is absolute perfection -- but as I was going through his hit-filled discography, it was "Send Her My Love" that really jumped out at me as the song I remember most from my childhood. Sure enough, it turns out that hit was released in 1972, the year I've repeatedly cited as the one my brain seemed to have been most porous where music was concerned!
