Not my favorite Mellencamp song -- nothing compares with "Ain't Even Done With the Night" -- but this poster sure took me back. I must have seen the video for this and "Hurts So Good" about a hundred thousand times the summer of 1982, when our cable company in Mesa finally got MTV. Oddly enough, my neighbor and sometime-partner-in-crime (Tammy Wagner)'s parents were named Jack and Diane, although it didn't seem to amuse Tammy nearly as much as it did me.

I gotta agree with you on "Ain't Even Done With the Night." But there was a certain appeal to "Jack and Diane". After all, "Jack he's gonna be a football star."
