Life sure can be funny. For Christmas I bought my child-of-the-'90s boyfriend tickets to see the Gin Blossoms. And now out of nowhere, my Arizona childhood friend Mary -- seen here circa 1986 with me at the Jack-in-the-Box on Mill Avenue in Tempe next door to Long Wong's, where the Gin Blossoms got their start -- happens to be flying in from Phoenix this afternoon for work and is now joining us at the show! Now if only two tacos for 99 cents were also in my immediate future ...
