Song of the Day: ‘Each and Every One’ by Everything But the Girl

Remember hearing this on "Rock Over London" in high school and immediately rushing out to buy the band's debut LP, which I later learned was a reconfigured U.S. edition. (Got "Eden" on import shortly thereafter using my movie-theater-job money!) This song came up because Tracey Thorn spoke to the Guardian about how her anxieties may have actually fueled the band's early success. And as my agent friend Christopher says of her: "I admire her for choosing an unflattering hairstyle decades ago and sticking with it."
