Song of the Day: 'Million Reasons' by Lady Gaga

I live in a vacuum, musically and otherwise. So when I was riding in a Lyft coming back from a funeral in Bayonne, N.J., last week I was subjected to music out of my control for the first time in awhile -- and I was nervous. Things started promising with "Lucky Star" then nostalgic enough when "Dancing on the Ceiling" came on next. The stripped-down ballad that followed was a mystery to me, but I was pleasantly surprised by its passion and simplicity. When my Shazam app revealed that it was Lady Gaga with those one hundred million reasons to walk away, it reaffirmed what I said about this after-my-time phenomenon when I found out another song I discovered I liked ("You and I") was also by her: She's not bad.

I had the same kind of experience watching Graham Norton a couple of years ago, when she came on and just blew me away. She was wearing kotherni and a headdress of tall feathers and sang "Do what you want".

Yes, I'd heard of her, no I hadn't really heard her. Sometimes she's absolutely amazing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lh3ghfKfCU
