Barbara Bush Is Dead at 92

Barbara Bush, the wife of one president and the loyal mother of another, died Tuesday evening at her home in Houston. She was 92.

Although she was rightly excoriated in 2005 when she said that Hurricane Katrina refugees being housed in the Houston Astrodome were "underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them,” she redeemed herself some in recent years by saying “we’ve had enough Bushes” when son Jeb began considering running for president -- then campaigned without the exclamation point when he ran anyway -- and then unabashedly said that she “didn’t know how women could vote for Trump.”

RIP, Babs. You were a Republican, but you weren't all bad. You were one of the few drag queens I ever watched.

She had class and spoke her mind

The only word I associate with Mrs Bush is indifferent. She was indifferent to the suffering of the gay community during the AIDS crisis. I do not mourn her passing.
