Sorry to read about the death of Grant Hart, drummer/vocalist/songwriter for the influential '80s band Hüsker Du. He was 56 and died of cancer.
His collaborator Bob Mould, who in more recent years has been well known to fellow gay men for his BlowOff parties, shared this tribute to his fallen bandmate, describing his relationship with Hart all the way back to the day they met. Mould said of the height of their career together:
“The next nine years of my life was spent side-by-side with Grant. We made amazing music together. We (almost) always agreed on how to present our collective work to the world. When we fought about the details, it was because we both cared. The band was our life. It was an amazing decade.”
