Song of the Day: 'Under the Gun' (demo) by Blondie

There were only a few songs I really liked on "No Exit," Blondie's first album in 17 years. My favorite was "Under the Gun," which had a spaghetti-Western vibe that always struck me as the sequel to "Go Through It," from 1980s experimental "Autoamerican." Tickled to stumble upon this early demo of the song -- which was dedicated to the Gun Club's Jeffrey Lee Pierce, above -- which rather than being rather than the finished product is almost a Hi-NRG version!

And here's a live performance from 1999 -- nice scatting, Deb!

Also just learned that Debbie did "Go Through It" live on the Debravation tour. That video has been removed as well, but how about this? How random!

When I saw the title I thought it was going to be by Face To Face off their debut album. GREAT 80's group and the one from the late 90's. Confrontation was their second and ONE BIG DAY was their 3rd and final and a huge departure. Laurie Sargent's (lead singer of Face To Face) voice used for Diane Lane's singing in Streets Of Fire.
