I want to give Tab Hunter a "voice lesson" too!
We finally got around to watching Jeffrey Schwarz's "Tab Hunter Confidential" and really enjoyed it. I had heard that the former heartthrob was reticent about discussing his private life, but the reports were grossly exaggerated. Tab was very forthcoming about his long-term relationships with figure skater Ronnie Robertson and actor Anthony Perkins -- and we even get to meet his current partner of 30 years, film producer Allan Glaser. I think what struck me the most about this documentary is the realization that Hunter was truly one of the biggest stars on the planet at one point -- Jack Warner literally created Warner Brothers records to capitalize on Tab's fame and desire to sing -- and then just as quickly was all but forgotten. It's also a fascinating look at life in the closet in Hollywood at a time when there were no other options.

It's a beautiful film about a beautiful man who went through a lot of struggles. It gets 5 out of 5 stars from me.
He was beautiful movie star.
Tab's book is great.
