How 'WKRP' Helped Blondie Go to No. 1

From HERE.

Fun Blondie trivia I never know about, from a reader who writes:

The "WKRP in Cincinnati" theme song popped in my head so I head to Youtube to hear it. Then I check out the Wiki and see this:

Music licensing
The show's use of Blondie's "Heart of Glass" was widely credited with helping the song become a major U.S. hit, and the band's record label Chrysalis Records presented the producers with a gold record award for the album Parallel Lines, on which the song appeared. This gold record can be seen hanging on the wall in the "bullpen" where Les, Herb, and Bailey worked in many of the episodes in the second, third, and fourth seasons.
Unusual and fascinating trivia. Check me, it's on the Wiki. True or not, I don't know. All this because I was following up on the Gary Sandy bulge pictures on DataLounge.

This made me wonder WEHT Gary Sandy.

He's 71 now, and has only a few post-WKRP TV or movie credits. His website says he's "...performed in over one hundred theatrical productions."

His roles included playing Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire, which I simply can not imagine.

I always enjoyed his open, Midwestern charm. And his tight jeans.

HELL YES!!! super stuff!! said...
