Here's to all the mothers of the world -- past, present and future -- who are the glue that holds the world together ... especially my own. :-)
Mom and Dad circa 1959. Their first child, Kevin, was born Jan. 4, 1960, but died of crib death on March 31. Three more boys followed in quick succession, which led my father to taking us to the emergency room every time we sneezed because he was so traumatized by what happened with his firstborn. Mom remained steady -- and later gave birth to my sister in 1974 after marrying my stepfather in 1973.
