A Tip for George W. Bush

Leisa Smith: Thank you for your service!

George W. Bush ripped on social media by waitress in tasteless 9/11 joke after he left generous tip for her

The Daily News:
Former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura were satisfied with their service at a restaurant last week — so much so the they took a photo with the waitress and left her a hearty $40 tip on the measly $21.47 bill. But for some reason, their server, Leisa Smith, decided to pay them back by sharing the snap with a tasteless 9/11 caption directed at Bush on her Twitter page.
I'll tell ya what. I'm sure the families of the thousands and thousands of dead Americans, coalition forces and innocent Iraqis caught up in the eight years, eight months and 28 days of violence -- not to mention the causalities that have ensued by the complete destabilization of the country and the region as a result or W's decision to invade Iraq under false pretenses -- would be more than happy to have this "tasteless" thing that happened to the Bushes be the worst thing that's ever happened to them. Honest to God. Personally, I think the Daily News should have named her Person of the Week.

That's not the point, and any belief that you know exactly what you would do under any set of circumstances is asinine when the weight of 350+ people are impacted by your actions.

Not a bush apologist and was one of the few Texans to agree with the Dixie Chicks, but you don't do that. It's classless, and it disrespects the office of the president.

You don't have to like the president, but if more liberals fought by being better instead of being little bitches, the rights message would eventually lose its relevance.

If we went to war in Iraq -- or anywhere -- to help them achieve freedom, then we certainly should support this young woman's FREEDOM OF SPEECH!

(Do you not remember what happened to the Dixie Chicks for doing what you said you supported back then?!)

Freedom of speech doesn't protect anyone from another person's freedom to respond. No one is saying that she should be thrown in jail. But is it reasonable to expect that she not be a little bitchy twat by expressing a belief (that she loosely understood) about someone who was kind to her. Regardless of how Hillary wordsmiths it, or how plausibly deniable she dances around it, she voted in favor of the Iraq war. Which is another reason I can't stand this vile woman and am also happy that another Bush is off the table. Go Bernie!

@SlippedClutch: I think you just made MY free-speech point for me! (And a Bernie tie-in? Oh honey, now you're reaching ...)

Speaking of "plausible deniability" and "dancing around" things ...

What a shocker to find yet another gay man who will spin things till he's blue in the face to have a "legitimate" reason to hate the woman candidate. Your true colors are showing and they're not pretty.

Here's ME exercising my First Amendment rights:

THANK YOU to this chick for speaking out on behalf of so many Americans who think this man should be in jail. No shit people are entitled to criticize her decision to speak up -- calling her a "twat" isn't bitchy or tacky, is it? -- and I'm entitled to say that I think she's an American hero.

Her repulsive posting has nothing to do with freedom of speech or First Amendment rights. The government isn't trying to restrict what she's writing.

Personally, I think George W. Bush was probably the worst President in US history, and that his administration was a disaster. But this waitress's behavior was just crude and trashy.

@Bill Carter: And I don't! :-)
